001 - A State Of Trance (Mixed By Armin Van Burren) - Various Artists

Advantages: armin, trance tracks, nice range of memories
Disadvantages: doesnt do ASOT justic

...As a ture ASOT & armin van buuren fan of course this was on my purchase list. ASOT radio shows tend to be the main highlight of my weeks and i am a frequent listener seeing some of the top tunes of the year on the cd was pleasing however, i wouldn't go crazy to get my hands on this better off listening to armin weekly! the cd has definatly missed some of the best tracks from later on in 2007 but this is nicely packed with good tunes from the early days. It still deserves a place in any trance collection but if i had the choice of buying it again i'd rather save my money for actually seeing Armin live at godskitchen or crasher where his live sets are unbelievable and trance tune rammed!... Advantages: Great new styles, not afraid of trying new trance techniques, good lengthed songs
Disadvantages: Not many well known songs remixed, lyrics are always the chorus of the song repeated

...This album shows just how much Armin is capable of. A State of Trance 2007 features 28 long trance tracks, ranging from 2 minutes to 8 minutes (Most around 6) that flow into eachother. Armin has used various techniques that other trance music creators have not tried yet, such as bit-crunching, and has achieved the desired effect. I have really enjoyed this album, and have listened to it for 3 months now, without being bored of it. One of my favourite aspects of this album is the use of drums, he has used different samples to make his music provide the 'rushing' feeling to it's listener that most trance artists cannot achieve. This album is well worth it's price, as it has over 1 and a half hours of tracks inside, that you will not get bored of. There are a few original songs by Armin in this CD, but most are tracks from other people... Read review

...Armin Van Buuren is one of the worlds top DJ's, his previous albums (Shivers and Various A State Of Trance albums to mention a few) have been excellent, his weekly 'A State Of Trance' show has been added to my Ipod every Friday morning for the last few years, so when I heard about this album I was very excited to say the least. The flow of the album is brilliant starting off with the title track Imagine and going into 'Going Wrong' which is going to be massive this summer, all the way through the the beautiful 'Intricacy' at the end. It is a big shame that 'If You Should Go' IMO the best track he has produced since Shivers is not on the album. This is a suprise as Armin started playing the track around the same time he started promoting the album. The only other detremental thing I would say about the album is that it is very 'Vocal...
