Disadvantages: Could have more hardrock artists in and and second CD hasn't as much good artists in

...A fantastic CD with lot's of different kinds of rock. The best bands of 2006 and 2007 put in one CD. Artists like Snow Patrol, Razorlight, The Fratellies, The Arctic Monkeys, Automatic, The Ordinary Boys, The Killers, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks and the list goes on. Has two CD's and has 40 tracks, 20 on each CD. Has new up coming artist such as Wolfmother. has many artists winners from the Brits: The Killers who won best national CD and best national band, The Arctic Monkeys won best British CD and best British band. The Fratellis won an award too and many more Brit award winning artists. A fantastic purchase well worth its money. A great buy. I recommend definitely to people anywhere between 8 and 100 if they enjoy that kind of music. It even has some live performing artists such as 'The Arctic Monkeys' on tour... Read review

Advantages: Great Garage Mod Punk Rock

...Over the years Billy Childish has released over 100 albums with his various bands, The Milkshakes, Thee Mighty Cesars, Thee Headcoats and Thee Headcoatees being amongst the most notable. He has also been an equally prolific painter, poet and author, as well as gaining notoriety as being one of Tracey Emin's exes. His fan base is pretty diverse including Nick Cave, Blur, The White Stripes, The Hives, Mudhonney, Nirvana and even Kyle Minogue. Dispite all that he has never achieved main-stream success due to his sticking to his guns and proudly remaining an amateur, also due to his refusal to play industry games to achieve greater success, but probably mainly due to the abrasiveness of his work. Advantages: Expanded version of the vinyl release
Disadvantages: Mixed bag

...I remember when I first got my hands on the vinyl edition of this many years ago. I was so happy to see a lot of my favourite live bands on record all in one place. I played it to death, so you could imagine my delight when it was finally released on CD - With loads more tracks!! The Countdown Label was the brainchild of Eddie Pillar who, a few years later, went on to form the highly successful Acid Jazz label. This collection brought together some of the most popular Mod related bands of the time. The CD edition kicks off with two tracks by Makin' Time, a Hammond organ based band which featured the vocal talents of the beautiful Fay Hallam. Band member Martin Blunt later went on the play bass in the massively successful Charlatans.
