Material written from off The Streets
Review of Original Pirate Material - Streets (The) by  3min_man

Advantages: Thought provoking at times, quality lyrics and some good points
Disadvantages: Repetitive sound sometimes through the album

...FORWARD ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This were their 2nd release before the album and did make it quite big but failed to gain as much success as the first single. The tune does have quite a different sound, quite happy and quite sort of geezer type. It isn't heavy with the drums in fact, chooses to use a chord bouncing through the tune giving it that geezer drop-the-shoulder sort of bounce and rhythm. Again the lyrics talk about him and The Streets. It could get boring and even I believe that being a fan of The Streets but it's the order in which he puts his lyrics and choices of rhymes that makes me smile or if not this then want to rap along with him. 04 ~ SHARP DARTS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is more of an emcee piece than a tune. Although it's got the drums, beats and weird scratching sample it... Read review

Low Down Dirty Street Talkin Baby
Review of Original Pirate Material - Streets (The) by  mbmb11

Advantages: Completely Original
Disadvantages: None whatsoever compulsive listening

...; the CD itself! Original Pirate Material consists of 14 tracks. Snippets of all the album tracks can currently be listened to on The Streets official website (http://www.the-streets.co.uk). You can also view the latest videos to accompany the two single releases from the Album so far here. (‘Let’s push things forward’ and ‘Has it come to this?’). The Streets don’t tend to have a fixed style to their music, in terms of beats and rhythms used on their tracks. The tracks on the album include the use of Garage beats, UK and US Hip Hop beats, Reggae and Funk, Drum and Bass and Trance beats, both uptempo and downtempo, hyper and chillout. However, the style in which the tracks are rapped/chatted/sung are all similar, yet very unique. The ‘singer/rapper’, sounds as though he is a Londoner, who... Read review
