As the title suggests, when you think of the word classic you think of a piece of work of the highest standards or excellence. What possessed the person picking these tunes to call them classics or anthems is beyond me! This poor sod has had a task dropped on his desk by the good people at warner and probably cannot think of more than 30 'classics' so filled the disc up with some random stuff!
Regardless the price you can get 100 tracks and its definately worth it if you havent already got 99 of them! 5 dics, 20 tracks on each, good quality sound but a right mix of tracks. Its not like you have one disc 1990-1995 and another 2007 onwards, its a right free for all on here. I would go as far as saying some tracks arent even r&b! Tracks dates range from late 80s to summer 08 (when it was released).
I got given this for my birthday because some people had heard i liked r&b music, nice thought but to be fair ive got most of them anyway, i suppose having them all in one boxset can be handy but it makes a mockery of all the albums and singles ive collected over the years. Space saver some would say, i would say touche'
Anyway enough rambling! I dont intend to make a list of every single song on the 5 cds, we all have far more exciting things to do than read that (dont we?) but i will put a few tracks done that are classics and a few that arent just to give you a flavour of what you might get yourself in for when purchasing.
This could also start one mass community debate on certain songs!! Here we go.

Theres plenty of good quality tunes on here - whether they would be classed as classic anthems is debatable but everyone will have their own opinion.

Again im not saying theyre not good, im quite partial to a bit of woman trouble but classic r&b anthems?
Overall the price you pay for what you get is superb. Do Warner only have rights to certain artists and certain songs, im not sure but for a nice mixture of tracks, some classic anthems and some garage its up there. Personally i will not be listening to it much, disc 5 i would have to say is the best one with the older tracks on here which i havent got. Have fun listening if you do purchase but just try to tippex over the words 'anthems' and 'classic' on the cover, then youre good to go!
