...So then, Tiesto live in Amsterdam.. widely recognised as one of the best, if not THE best trance DJ in the world (although I'm sure Paul van Dyk, Oakenfold, Armin et al will have plenty to say about that!).. this is where it all began for me.. this CD. Four years ago, when I was just starting to get an interest in the dance music scene, I stumbled across this album. I'd heard of Tiesto, but as a relative 'newbie' to trance I was unsure of what to expect. I'd been happy listening to my Ministry Of Sound annuals, sticking to the more commercial side of dance.. but little did I know this purchase would pretty much change the way I listened to music, that there would be no going back to the cheesyness of DJ Sammy, Lasgo etc. As the mix begins, you're greeted by cheers and whistles from the waiting crowd. ...three great mix cds in one pack and mixed by the legendary dj hype. this cd is full of every style of drum n bass. this is a great way of hearing all styles in one mix set, from jump up to jazzy, dark and ragga and more soulfull tracks. not many people mix all style when djing drum n bass but hype does it and does it well. best thing of all they decided not to have an mc rapping over the tune and this is a great advantage to this cd and just lets the music do the talking. there are also a few vocal tracks on this cd aswell. there are so many styles/genres of drum n bass aspecially in britain [home of dnb] this cd really does all justice. there has some great exclusives versions of tracks on this as well which makes it even more special. everyone should have a copy of this for sure and even people that dont like drum n bass... Advantages: Great Trance and Dance Music
Disadvantages: As with all dance, can get repetitive

...Its no wonder this album is so good when you think that Tiesto began his career here in Holland, mixing records before he was a teenager. For those of you that think that watching a DJ play records is boring you'd be wrong. Tiesto is a great mixer and when playing the records has that great cheesy grin and jumps up and down joing in with the crowd! A great cd from start to finish, the best track of all for me is track 7, "Silence" by Delirium, She really does have a cracking voice!This is a great remix and I'm sure many clubbers will agree. I have got all of Ti's albums but this is one of my favourites. When it comes to mixing records theres no-one better. There are also many other great tracks, Moogwai-Viola, for example, which from start to finish is non-stop. It's no wonder this album is titled Magik. I gaurantee you that you... Read review
