'One Hour by the Concrete Lake', released in July of 1998, focuses on the environment and the indigenous peoples disposition amongst other things. The story is that of a man who works in a munitions factory who begins to have doubts about the morality of his job and as his New Years resolution vows to travel the World and see the consequences of his occupation.
The story ends when the main character discovers that it is impossible to break free of the 'machine' that controls his life because, outside of the 'machine', there are just more machines.

Advantages: Wonderful vocals, accomplished backing Disadvantages: She's taking too long to come up with a second album!
...joined the Brian Jonestown Massacre band for a brief period, before moving to live in a tent in a friend's back garden in LA where she met up with the musicians who would eventually appear on "The Herethereafter". Citing trip-hop as one of her many influences (including Blondie, Neil Young and Chrissie Hynde), there's more than a smattering of that particular genre on display but the overall product on offer on this CD is straight-down-the-middle AAA (Adult Album Alternative).
