Tarantino's 1994 smash, and although that sound runs throughout the soundtrack (along with bits and pieces of dialogue from the movie), this is a pretty eclectic bunch of really terrific songs. I don't know how it all manages to hang together, but it does (you might say the same for the interwoven stories in the movie). Where else are you going to find Chuck Berry, Maria McKee, Al Green, The Statler Brothers, Kool & the Gang, Urge Overkill (singing a Neil Diamond ballad!), Ricky Nelson, Dusty Springfield, and the Tornadoes (among others)on one album? McKee's beautiful "If Love is a Red Dress (Hang Me in Rags)" is a standout, partly because it's less familiar. One of the few soundtracks of the '90s that went into the CD player and stayed there for weeks and months thereafter. --Jim Emerson

Abrasive, spiky guitars; some passing fillip to dance music trends; and striking, attitude-laden front-people ... that's the Matador style. Indie completists, too, might care to check this out--the final CD features a wad of previously unreleased tracks from alternative music's finest. A fine collection. --Everett True

Advantages: Will Smith's Best Staring Role Disadvantages: Not a widley Known film, or at least I dont know many people who have seen it.
have looked poor if they hadn?t been done all that well. Add to that some good location choices and you have got a decent enough film that doesn?t require you to think too much about it but also provides decent entertainment value.
The casting of the Smith and Lawrence really impressed me. It was Smith?s first feature film having made his name as a musician and also in the Fresh Prince, his step up to feature films has been a successful one. His comical ability really comes across in the film as the partnership with Lawerence really seems to bring out the best in both actors as they have a sort of understanding. Smith slots in well to the role almost as if it was written for him.
Likewise Lawrence who has been in some strange films (Black Knight) but he does seem to be at his best in both Bad Boys films. He portrays the family man ...
