...the third album from Rilo Kiley carries on their theme of alternative country rock. their style is pretty much the same as in their previous album, but i get the feeling this is the one they are attempting some commercial success with. The stand out track on the CD is for me 'Love and War (11/11/46)', with the band showing a glimpse of their more punky side. 'Portions for Foxes' is the second track that stands out to me with the cheekily sexy Jenny Lewis sounding amazing on this track, which was released as the only single so far from this album.
Rilo kiley are a band for lovers of bright eyes, and also lovers of anything in the saddle creek style. the label may be different but the quality of the music still remains intact.

Advantages: This is as close as you can get to perfect music Disadvantages: Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.
..., as in the song Us.
The one quirk in the album is the song Your Honour. It flicks between loud, screamy punk and little piano ditties. I think I have the vast majority of Regina Spektor songs, and this is the only one I've heard that is blatant, balls-to-the-wall rock.
I would recommend this album to everyone. And I do mean everyone. I would even recommend this album above the other two I have - Begin to Hope and 11:11. Begin to Hope is a wonderful album in itself, especially the track 20 Years of Snow, which is just astonishing. But it is let down slightly by having...

Advantages: Wonderful songwriting from one of the best around Disadvantages: Not as good as some previous work due to a couple of weaker songs
..., once again we all will be so broken, now can I finlly sleep again?"
11)Crumb By Crumb
A nice, uplifting song. Again, some interesting instruments used such as an oboe, Jew's harp, and hammond organ, along with an acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards, and some strings. The female backing vocals work really well in this song, and Rufus Wainwright's voice is first class. I also saw this song performed on the Jools Holland show a couple of weeks ago, and it was truely great, with Rufus wearing a wonderful suit! A great song, which makes a change after a couple of slower songs.
12)Old Whore's Diet (featuring Antony)
An exciting song! The song begins with Rufus singing with no accompaniment other than an odd strum on an acoustic guitar. Quite a slow start, but this is effective, as the start is repeated but much more lively! After the slow...
