EXTREMELY FINE AND WONDROUS STUFF
Review of Early Music Festival by  psychelatte

Advantages: An extra hours worth of glorious 16th century florentine music
Disadvantages: deletion of the original "music from the Crusades"/"the triumphs of maximillian"

...Well, i don't know what to say, this is a truly stupendous and enchanting recording indeed. i first heard (bits of) this when i got it out the library on vinyl more than 10 years ago. since then i've been trying to get hold of it again in any format possible. when i discovered it was only 2 CDS, yet the original vinyl had at least 3 LPS, suggesting at least 3 hours music, after a little research online I found that the hours worth of "the triumphs of Maximillian"(which i didn't really like anyway) and "Music of the Crusades" (which i most certainly did) were missing. I was a bit upset at losing the Music of the Crusades, but never fear! there are still copies available separately, if you do a little search here and there. Anyway, let me tell you this, the first CD is "13th Century Florentine Music" and has many enchanting... Read review

A Medieval Christmas.
Review of A Medieval Christmas by  Martinscholes

Advantages: Wonderful Christmas CD
Disadvantages: None

...there are 27 songs and tunes on the CD, many of them are, by modern standards, quite short, some being only a little over one minute in length. There are a range of songs on the CD. Some (such as Ductia, Angelus ad Virgimem, Alleluia Psall at and Ecce Quod Natura are English compositions, whilst others on the CD are from France and one is from Germany. The composers and authors of the vast majority of these songs are listed as "anon" their names lost in the long centuries of history. The composers of two songs are, however, known. A Sollis Ortus a French song was composed by Gilles Binchois in the 15 century and Tard Il Mio Cor, which is an English song composed by John Hothby, also in the 15 century. I find it both interesting and very moving that our Medieval ancestors could have listened to at least some of these very same tunes... Read review

Now That's What I Call Music 69
Review of Now That's What I Call Music Vol.69 - Various Artists by  Hsaxo

Advantages: Some good tunes, suitable for anyone any age
Disadvantages: Also some poor quality tunes, getting worse each time a new ones out

...Now That's What I Call Music Vol.69 Complication Album This is the 69th United Kingdom version of the Now That's What I Call Music volumes as the title would suggest. I had been waiting for this album to come out for a while as I usually buy the Now albums for something to listen to in the car, this album came out on the 17th March 2008, all of the music on these albums is from the recent official chart listings. Now That's What I Call Music albums come out every 6months and have the Number 1 charts singles over that time as the contents, these albums are usually just known as Now 69 etc as it's easier and not as long as the full title! Now69 is the latest version of this set to come out. It was bought out by the record labels EMI and Virgin. This album as like the other previous volumes consists of two disks with the following...
