and no band soared higher than Roky Erickson and the 13th Floor Elevators. In addition to acid-tinged garage rockers such as the crazed-love anthem, "You're Gonna Miss Me," the Elevators' debut included tracks such as "Reverberation (Doubt)," "Roller Coaster," and "Splash 1," which viscerally evoked the sounds of their titles while offering lyrics that provided a philosophical structure for the psychedelic experience. The lyrics were written by Tommy Hall, who also played amplified jug. Hard as it may be to believe now, that jug created a weird sound that predicted that burbling synthesizers of modern-day techno. --Jim Derogatis

...Few psychedelic bands are able to hold a sugar cube to the 13thFloorElevators. Formed by Austin University undergraduate Tommy Hall who despite not being a musician had a clear vision of the route the band should. Tommy took an already successful local Texan band The Lingsmen and recruited Rocky Ericsson from the spades onto vocals to form the 13thFloorElevators. The band were serious about psychedelic mind expansion, and Rocky eventually paid a fairly high price for this, spending years in a Texan asylum for the criminally insane, after pleading guilty to Marijuana possession.
Anyway onto the music Tommy Hall took on the role as lyricist and band guru, he also played the Electric Jug which created a sort of bubbling sound in the background of the music. This album has its feet fairly squarely in the garage rock of the time...

...The 13th Warrior begins with an introduction to our hero, Ahmed (played by Antonio Banderas)an ambassador that's been exiled from his homeland. Together with his entourage he comes across a band of Vikings (referred to as North men) and they join them in their camp.
It's not too long before after a lot of what appears to be hocus-pocus, that a young Viking enters the camp and tells them of this Viking kingdom that is being attacked by a ferocious beast they call the Grendel. An army of men needs to be chosen to return north and rid the kingdom of the threat, and to chose who is to go, they consult a soothsayer -an old bone-throwing woman who appears to be completely mad. She picks twelve Viking men whilst Ahmed looks on and then says that there has to be a 13th who is non-Viking for them to be successful. This turns out to be Ahmed...

...This new Friday the 13th is awesome, and definitly my favourite out of all the Friday the 13th films. This films again shows him with his mask, his machete and all his classic horror features.
If you're a fan of horror, then you will love this film. It is scary and it is jumpy. I recall 'jumping' out of my seat once, and it was a jump at that. Everything's quiet and calming down and boom, sharp loud sound effects and a machete out of no where and I was in the air!
This film shows you where Jason finds his classic mask, and he again uses his machete as his primary weapon, however I must tell you that during the movie he also uses a Bow and arrow to kill a certain person on a boat and it was so cool!
Also, when this film starts you settle into all the characters and their story etc.. but then within 10 minutes pretty much all...
