One of the members of the pop punk movement of the 80's (and early 90's) was Billy Idol. In 2001 this album was put together before his return. Advantages: Smart tunes with a jazz undercurrent
Disadvantages: Too "modern" for jazz purists?

...'s sounding scarily like Billie Holiday. Never going to be released as single! Song: 3/5 Jazziness: 4/5 6. Moody's Mood For Love (4:10) --------------------------------------------- Upon first hearing this, it sounds like Amy singing this in a scat-style over a double bass whilst someone throws empty lemonade bottles down a lift shaft. The perussion is weird, far out and works superbly. This can't be the same woman that just sung on I Heard Love Is Blind because the range and tone of the vocals lose their inhibitions and she almost sounds like Lauryn Hill. A bizarre but accessible track. Song: 3/5 Jazziness: 4/5 7. Advantages: Great tracks, loads of emotion packed inside!
Disadvantages: Not so much tracks from her first album

...jumped back into the business as a much more mature 16 year old, and a surname too! The bubbly princess known as Billie, was now a sophisticated Billie Piper! Though she was having success in the charts still, Billie's mental and physical health were going down. After a nasty remark, Billie became anorexic, and had several other health problems too. Releasing her final album was the end to her music. We said a sudden goodbye to Billie with 'Walk Of Life'. Since then, Billie married Chris Evans (her rescuer!) and turned to acting. Billie is best known now for her role of Rose Tyler in Doctor Who 2004-2006. ***** 'The Best Of Billie' is a collection of all of Billie's greatest hits from her three years as a solo artist.
