Advantages: Lou Reed on top form, Wonderfully varied styles Disadvantages: Nico ruins some of the tracks by singing on them
..."We fly to the cozy brown snow of the east" mumbles Lou Reed on the epic "Black Angel's Death Song" - This basically states the album's modus operandi. The Velvet Underground were renouned drug enthusiasts and as this album was created in the height of Andy Warhol's "Pop Art" phenomenon, the Velvets found themselves deeply emersed in the culture (their cover art was designed by Mr. Warhol, who also produced the album itsself!!) The result is a hypnotic and distorted masterpiece, plucking from different styles such as pop, blues, jazz, psychadelica and even pre-empting punk!
The first track, "Sunday Morning" is a pleasing and beautiful song describing the wonders of the sabbath, rather sinple in structure (as with much of the rest of the album) yet not without that evil, yet irresistable underbelly of sex, drugs and the seemingly...

Advantages: A feel good album Disadvantages: Some of the tracks could have been longer
...This was one probably The Beatles fourth best album after 'Revolver', 'The White Album' and Sgt. Pepper'. It was a great way for the world's best-ever rock group to end things.
'Come Together' starts the album off, and the title really gives the game away as to The Beatles state of mind. A gritty song, with John's memorable gutsy vocal. A song much admired by the indie crowd down the years.
'Something' and 'Here Comes The Sun' were proof of George Harrison's burgeoning talent. Sweet melodies, and the best tracks on the album. One can only wonder what George & John, and George & Paul might have come up with.
Paul's 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' grows on you, while Macca's 'Oh! Darling' is one of the heaviest things Paul ever did with the Fab Four.
'Octopus's Garden' is a lovely Ringo song. His lilting voice was sadly underused...

Advantages: funky as it comes, great musicians, nice album art Disadvantages: only good for people into funk
...A funky work of art that is just incredible. One of the earliest of many great successes by the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. Freaky Styley features many great tracks like Jungle man, Freaky Styley and the historic cover of If You want me to stay. This funkadelic magic was managed by none other than the god father of funk himself mr George Clinton. With Clinton entering the ranks this was bound to be a huge success for the red hot chili peppers and their punk funk master pieces.
Quality of Audio
All the tracks are mint and beautiful you listen to. There is no bad recordings or songs on album. All tracks were professional cleaned up leaving no little problems.
Lyrics and Instrumental Performances
Anthony Kiedis- His vocals on this album arent amazing but are very satisfactory. the lyrics have interesting meaning and are funny to listen to...
