...I'm not usually a big fan of soundtrack CDs. Sometimes they work and the music is evocative of a great film or television series. But often, the music tracks are too varied and you'll find you like some and hate others. But I decided to buy the soundtrack CD to Ashes to Ashes, because the music is integral to the television series and while watching it, I often remarked on how good the music was. Ashes to Ashes is set in 1981 when I was 11-12 and fairly regularly buying singles, so I did think it would be worth buying this album. The 1980s theme of the series is great and it is reproduced well in this CD. The album has twenty songs from the time, plus a couple of short interludes and the theme tune to the TV series. It lasts a total of 69 minutes. The CD is a Digipak version, whereas I really prefer the more sturdy box. It looks good... Read review

Advantages: Mix of new and old songs

...Love this cd! ministry of sound always make good remixes. This cd has a mix of old skool songs and new ones which i love. The songs that are remixed are unusual to be heard together but very good contrast. I was not dissappointed when i listened to the 08 one as the 07 mash up mix was really good as well. When a new compilation is released sometimes they are not as good as the previous year. I bought it from tesco when it first came out which is stupid because if u wait a little while after it has come out the price drops. I will definatly buy next years mash up mix as the 07 and 08 ones are brilliant. Definatly recommend it to any dance music listeners! Advantages: Comprehensive collection of tracks over the past couple of decades

...Ministry of Sound Anthems (1991-2008) is one of those uplifting albums that will get you thinking of memories from the past. As the title suggests, this album gives a comprehensive selection of dance tracks from the past 2 decades in a three disk package. When I first listened to this album, I was taken on a journey through the years, starting with the old school tunes on disc one, moving into the second wave dance scene of the late 90's on the second disk with tracks such as Salt Water, Kernkraft 400 and the remixed The Trouble With Me. Finally the thrid disk sees the current decade of dance music sampled, with bob Sinclair, eric Prydz and fininshing off the album with Fredde Le grand's Put your Hands Up For Detroit, which cannot help but get up and dance to! I feel that this album definitely gives value for money with the selection... Read review
