Advantages: Maiden live in the UK at their finest! Tracks of the new album "Fear of the Dark", the atmosphere of the night comes through in the music Disadvantages: i wasn't there
...Monster of Rock, an event no longer hosted, was a date that any metal fan kept in his diary!
Its 1992, Donington castle. A British venue and for once a British headlining band, after all you can't get more British than the Maiden boys.
Maiden were supported by acts like Pantera and on the night the awesome Skid Row (another band that has sadly departed us) led by charismatic frontman Seb Bach (Incidentally he did a rendition of 'Children of the Damned' that night, if you've heard it tell me what you though - it rocked!).
Maiden took the stage and fired out the classics;
The Trooper, Run to the Hills, The Evil than men do, Fear of the Dark, Bring your daughter to the Slaughter, Hallowed be thy Name! The list goes on! Between songs Bruce Dickinson, Maiden frontman since 1982, took time to liven up the crowd (not that they needed it...

Advantages: Some good stuff Disadvantages: Mostly a miss
...After a number of singles and extensive touring around Europe, New Order finally issued their first album, Movement, in November 1981. It was long awaited and the hero worship that had got quite out of proportion following the death of Ian Curtis in 1980 made expectations the highest for new material. Nothing would have been able to live up to the weight of such expectation.
Movement received lukewarm reviews and very strong sales, powered by the mass adulation that still gripped the rock public. Its sonorous melodies and languorous rhythms were more of a glance back at Joy Division than a bold step forward, and the album did little to expand their audience. It was not until April 1982 that the group managed to develop the brighter rhythmic base of Everything’s Gone Green into the dance gem Temptation.
