Advantages: A long awaited event in the rock firmament – a new studio album by one of the mega-names of rock. They are now on tour – coming to the UK in November
Disadvantages: Good in part. It’s a marathon – and feels like it by the end.

In 1966 the then guitarist Eric Clapton left to be replaced by Peter Green. Already in the group were Mike Fleetwood (drums) and John McVie (bass). Green wrote an instrumental which he called “Fleetwood Mac”. When Clapton returned to the Bluesbreakers in 1967, Green left the band and joined up with Fleetwood with McVie. ...to the counter and they said you know it is a set of 3 discs. Wow value for money. The cover looks like a black chalkboard and it has School Reunion on in white and then The 80's in pink and underneath it has 3cd's! 60 hits!! in white. The back of the cd cover tells you what is on all 3 cds. The cd was created by Virgin Records which I was a bit surprised at as at first I thought it was a Friends Reunited one. When opening the CD case, there sits all the 3 CDs very similar to the covers but with cd1, cd2 and cd3 on them. They are black in colour. There is a little booklet inside which is tells you the same information that is on the back cover. I have actually got this playing now and I will tell you all the songs and which CD it is on. Advantages: virtuoso playing

...Unsurprisingly, following their recent reformation after several decades for a string of live dates at the Royal Albert Hall, there's been a jug full of new Cream product, from CD compilations to DVDs to biographies. Just to be contrary I thought I'd go right back to 1966 and their very first album. If there's anyone on the planet who doesn't know who Cream were/are...well, they were dubbed Rock's first "Super Group", which became a fashionable term to describe several star musicians joining forces. In truth though, at the time, only guitarist Eric Clapton could really be described as anything approaching a "star", following his stints with The Yardbirds, who he quit because he didn't like their pop direction, and John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, with whom he earned the appellation "God".
