Bing Boys Are Here
Review of Bing Boys Are Here - Original Cast by Madaboutmusic

Advantages: Good historical recording
Disadvantages: Would be better with today's transfer technology

...A sympathetic collection of one of the most significant musicals of the Great War era. Very interesting for music historians and those seeking wartime nostalgia. "The Bing Boys are Here" was a comedy musical revue with a varying programme of songs. It opened on the 19th April 1916. The story was light hearted and provided a welcome entertainment for the troops on leave as well as the general population. It reflected the hope for the future in one of the darkest periods of the Twentieth Century - the story centering around the two brothers Bing leaving home and heading towards the City to seek their fortunes. Unfortunately doesn't include one of the most famous standards - probably the only one still sung today: "Let the Great Big World Keep Turning" Perhaps a better attempt at transferring the original recordings to digital... Night Visiting
Review of Night Visiting - Bella Hardy by indexicality

Advantages: Bella has a beautiful and clear voice.
Disadvantages: There are one or two tracks which i'm not sure about

...'Night Visiting' is Bella Hardy's first album. All eleven tracks are written, performed (fiddle and vocal) and produced by Bella. Excerpts of all her tracks can be heard at 'www.bellahardy.com' and she is sometimes played on Mike Harding's Radio 2 show (Wednesday 1900-2000) Bella has a clear and beautiful voice. Her music is in the style of English Folk comparable to Kate Rusby and Cara Dillon. Jim Moray, (Sweet England) is currently listening to her album and particularly likes 'Alone, Jane', according to his website. Her lyrics are imaginative and story-telling as if handed down through centuries. Her instrumentals include the fiddle, melodeon, viola, harp, accordian, whistles and concertina. I love her album, and often listen to it, I bought it from her website and it arrived immediately. My favorates are 'Heart Hill' which... Read review
