1RKO - 1st Round Knockout

Advantages: James McColl and a great band
Disadvantages: Maybe takes a second listen

...I just don`t understand why the Supernaturals didn`t become massive. The did the rounds for a few years and released oine of the greatest albums of all time - "It doesn`t matter anymore". Along came "A tune a day" which was rather less well received - that should have been a massive album but as James suggests on the album, people take themselves too seriously. These albums made me really happy and still do. This one does as well. With hindsight this was never going to be a big seller - the definitive line up of the Supers disappeared too. Guitarist Derek, who can now be hired to decorate your house, gets a song in too - "Instant Healing" which is a nice little tune. Advantages: Quite a number of their greatest hits
Disadvantages: too many boring, bad songs....as if desperate to fill the album

...This Album was brought to the market long after the demise of Boyzone. It was just a bit of a desperation attempt to generate revenue I would say. If they had just stuck to the popular hits it would have been a greater success of an album. I find myself skipping over many of the tracks but then it does contain their greatest hits all on one CD so essentially the decision is yours. If you were ever a Boyzone fan then its a profitable buy. Advantage to it is having a good round up of thier biggest hits all on one Album. These including the hits No matter what, Baby can I hold you, Words, Father and Son, Ben and their 1st Single propelling them to stardom Love me for a Reason. Altogether though there are 18 tracks on the album and many of them are rather disappointing. Like for instance Mystical experience - this is such a week song... Read review

Advantages: Possibly one of Converge's most well rounded albums
Disadvantages: You won't like this if you can't stand screaming

...aggresive guitar riff and hammering drums with Jacob screaming throughout, and reminds me kind of the music you got in old godzilla movies. The last track, Jane Doe is a slower track with quite melodic guitar riffs and Jacobs screaming over the top and some melodic screaming like the music from ghost in the shell and sounds almost foreign too. Either way this album is an overall example of the unique music Converge has to offer, and is a Converge must have. This album should not be judged by the 1st track and really should be the one to buy for people who've never heard converge and wish to listen to their style and in my opinion is an amazing overall album with the most poetic lyrics....
