...'t stand System Of A Down, then whilst I would still say try and give the album a chance, I think you might struggle to get into it overall. For me, this is an album I certainly don't regret buying and am very pleased to have it as part of my music collection.

...This album was released in 1991 and so now it is available for only £5.97 at Amazon. All CDs should be so cheap!
Wicked Game
You may have already heard the tune but try again. Go on. Listen to the sheer quality of the guitar. From the very first note you can feel the silken, velvety loveliness. A brushy understated drum and gentle bassline follow the Bm - A - E progression and laid-back backing singers caress the melody. Chris Isaak sounds fabulous. Imagine if Elvis was alive, young and making a new and inspired album. That's what you get here. Languid, smooth, seductive singing suitable for hot passionate nights. Clutch a bottle of Bacardi and throw your hair back on the lawn. Say something witty and outrageous. But put this track on first.

Advantages: Consistently strong songs Disadvantages: Perhaps no "mega-hit" in the vein of Wicked Game but nothing really.
...I'd never really heard of Chris Isaak when I first got this album, although I later found out i knew the song 'Wicked Game' (who doesn't?)
My dad got into a habit of buying albums he already had and when this occured with this album he passed it onto me, although he had to make me promise to try it out because I was heavily into rock music like Aerosmith at the time and had never really given this type of music the chance
From the first listen six years ago to today I still really enjoy this album. It's really great to relax to but with enough depth that you could listen to it with headphones on and appreciate each song lyrically and musically.
It's quite hard to describe the music, it's like a pop country. Almost like a Roy Orbison for the 80s and 90s bizarrely! They're very melodic and easy to sing along to. Electric guitar...
