Advantages: Hippy, makes you want to smile ear-to-ear music. Disadvantages: Can get dull towards the end
...in gradually with chords, to be met by Romeo Stodarts lyrics, and then a riff section of a bouncy bassline. This up and down system goes on to the chorus which is a banjo fest of breathtaking harmonies, until the song calms off for a quiet section. This song is a real mixed bag! There are more banjos before the end of this over 5 munite track, which is the longest on the album. It could be shorter and does begin to drag but at least the album is not the 'Numbers 'Be Here Now'.
Number two is the first single 'Forever Lost'. This has recived alot of airplay on Radio 1, 6 Music and MTV 2 to name a few, and, like the abum, has been very sucessful. Its another fast pased hippy song with upbeat bass and a great melodice (now thats not an instrument used in many rock bands) again, the song has sublime melodies, but the bridge si what makes the song...

Advantages: Almost as good as being there Disadvantages: "Almost" as good as being there!!
...Since I have completed my collection of all Queen’s albums about 5 years ago, I think it’s about time I started reviewing them so that everyone else realises how good they are and rushes out to buy them.
I’m starting with Live Magic since it seems to be the only one which hasn’t as yet been reviewed by anyone. I think the quality of the support band shows just how big this tour was. The supporting acts included INXS and Status Quo!!
The album is a compilation of bits of 4 different gigs on this tour, 2 from...

Advantages: Great first album, original and fresh Disadvantages: Last half of second album is terrible
...The Afro-Celt Sound System have made two succesful albums of enticing fusion between African and Celtic music. I hadn't heard about them before I listened to their first album, Sound Magic. Listening to it was literaly made me sit up and pay attention because I hadn't heard anything like it before. Of course I had heard sobre celtic lamemts and stylized cliched "Rainbow Nation" african beats (yuck in both cases) before, but the Afro-Celts succesfully blended the two into an upbeat album, filled with up-temp dance tracks and atmospheric mood music. There were on or two tracks with Celtic and African vocal just interweaving and sounding totally natural. There wasn't a single weak track on the first album. The second album, Release, was a slightly different affair. It sounded more stylized and better produced. The first half...
