What really strikes about this album is the variety within it . From , the slower , sexually charged songs like 'fuck you ' to the defiant 'whats the difference' , the album is changing pace constantly , and there doesnt seem ot be a weak link in this chain of incredible songs . What's in this album is consistancy, there isnt't a single dud track in the whole lot, each are very different - how dr dre does it I don't know .
Featuring some of the best rappers out there alongside himself , such as xzibit , snoop dogg and his protege, Eminem , Dre's laid back style to rapping is so absorbing i found myself knowing the lyrics first time through. Songs such as 'bang bang' and 'what's the difference' really stand out , and show dre at his best , rapping about what he's grown up with and hadto conquer to get ontop of the rap world , defiantly staking his place in the world. He certainly isnt ashamed of himself- rightly so - and mentions his birthplace ,Compton, many times throughout the album .
This album is certainly an essential for Hip hop fans , and is outstanding against all the competition , outside of it's own genre.
