2005 (+2DVD) - Ja Rule

Advantages: Nice Track, Good Vibe!
Disadvantages: To Short!

...Overall the album isnt really his best but its certainly showing Ja's power to make a hit records! From the first single with guest Bobby Brown on the "Thug Luvin" sets Ja's lyrical crediblilty. The song "Mesmerize" must be my favourite track on the album witha nice flow and hook both Ja and Ashanti. The track "The Pledge" is basically a remix from the original The Pledge but this remix is join by the one and only NAS. The "Reign" has some meaning to it by Ja talking about their stituation with the feds. The song has a guest appearance by the new sign of murder inc Alexi! Yea! another RnB artist. I must say that the album is pretty short with 13 tracks on it including 1 skit on the intro. Advantages: Ja Rule's scratchy vocals are neutralized by feminine backing vocals.
Disadvantages: Fans of Venni Vetti Vecci will be gravely disappointed. Ja Rule tries to represent the hip hop spectrum in one album.Great features but "Pop Rap" is best appreciated in small doses!

.... The song for many new Ja Rule fans is the favourite because it contains subtle lyrics and Ja Rule’s rough textured voice nicely fits in with the soft feminine vocals of Jennifer Lopez. This is not the only feature. Always On Time includes the newest addition to the Murderers INC family, Ashanti. She sings the bridge in the song and her unique vocals nicely blend in with Ja Rule’s thug lyrics. The song is decent but after listening to it a couple of times one can conclude that Ja Rule is best appreciated in small doses. Missy Elliot the queen of hip hop remixes also helps Ja Rule out on a song called X. After a couple of songs though, the novelty of “Pop Rap” wears off and reaches the status of almost annoying. Advantages: Newest Album
Disadvantages: Old Songs

...Ja Rules Album Exodus is more of a compilation than a real album it didn't do well selling wise but many of his old great hits such as Livin It Up and Thug LoIvin are there but there is a newer song called wonderful which is good featuring the pied piper R. Kelly.Irv Gotti was forced to release one more album from Ja and Ashanti to honor the contract with his parent company. Universal Records did not want to support a full album by either artist so two greatest hits sets were released. The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at #107, which is a poor effort compared to his previous albums. Rule has stated that this may be his last album as he has fulfilled his contract with The Inc., his record label, and wants to concentrate on other aspects of his career.
