...This album is a clear masterpiece from start to finish, every track is superb, with amazing lyrics and beats, which isn't suprising considering the fact that Dr Dre produced the whole album himself. Dr Dre is joined in this album by fellow rapper and friend Snoop Doggy Dogg, who provides some amazing lyrics with his unique and unmatchable style. Together Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg are untouchable. Made in 1992 this album was the first of its kind, leaving the old school style of Dr Dre's former group N.W.A behind. Dre Dre shows no limits in this album, the album caused great controversy due to its lyrical content, which isn't suprising considering the fact that every track includes 'Nigga' 'Bitch's' and 'Muthafucka'. this album is a true 'Gangstarap' album. ...This, is a fantastic album, and I'd advise any of you hippy hoppy lovers to get out there and buy it! This is Dre's first album, and one definatly one of raps masterpieces. The beats on this album are different to the familiar 2001 tunes, and are a little dated, but his lyrics remain as good as ever. The beats are very familiar,and are very 'techno' and are very similar to the early works of Snoop Dogg. An example of Dre's lyrics:- 'What would we have if I had my nuts hanging on a wall? I'd have walnuts' Very funny! hehe. Well, enough of Dr. Dre's nuts, and onto his songs: Chronic Intro: A great introduction to a great album, not really much of rapping in this, just a great beat, along with a bit of backgroud to Dre. ..."Dr. Dre 2001" is an unusual rap album, but Dr. Dre is an unusual artist. With assured writing and rapping, Dr. Dre steps up to the mike to cut heads with artists he usually doctors as a producer. Sure, the standard boasts are in place, but on this 22-track disc Dre offers a nearly seamless, sample-less collection that's lyrically sharp, nimble-tongued and musically inventive. On his sophomore disc, seven years after the release of his groundbreaking "The Chronic," Dre proves that what he did for hip-hop greats such as Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, NWA and, most recently Eminem, he can do for himself. Backing Doctor D. is bassist Mike Elizondo, playing his bottom-heavy rhythm instrument as it were a lead guitar.
