Advantages: A few decent tracks...
Disadvantages: ...but most of them are of the other sort!

...in the chorus. It’s better than most of the tracks on the album, but still nothing special in the bigger scheme of things. When the final track, “Nobody” rolls around, I suddenly find myself in agreement with Studt. “Nobody knows, nobody cares”, she sings. After what’s gone before, and after sitting through another weak ballad, I find myself unsurprised by this revelation. “False Smiles” is quite possibly one of the biggest disappointments I’ve come across in my years of listening to music. I don’t mind if an album is clearly bad, as long as it doesn’t try to mislead you, and is complete bad. With “False Smiles”, however, the singles were clearly chosen as being the best tracks, and that was enough to lure the naïf into the stores to buy the album. Advantages: Easy listening, thought provoking lyrics
Disadvantages: couple of boring ballads

...Misfit I decided to give her debut album False Smiles a listen. Pushing any pre-conceived ideas of "teen-scene" music to one side I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of those CD's that doesn't click until a few listens, then you just can't get it out of your system! Some of the songs have been co written by the likes of Gary Barlow, Cathy Dennis, Karen Poole (of Alisha's Attic). Here is my track by track review of False Smiles (released 30 June 2003) just a little girl Most of you will be familiar with this track, which was Amy's first official release. It starts off very slowly and quietly and opens out into a catchy protest of how she want's to be taken seriously as her own person, and not just a young person. Advantages: Loads of really good songs. A great CD with lots of variety of songs
Disadvantages: The album first released doesn't includ the 'all i wanna do song'. Make sure you get the second version

...This CD is a pretty good Cd. It has cool songs, I love listening to it!!! But beware the first released album does not include the song 'all I wanna do' .Make sure the Cd you buy does!! False smiles is great to listen to when your feeling fed up. 'Ladder in my tights' is wicked. It instantly cheers you up if your feeling fustrated or angry or upset with some one. There are some sad songs to cry as well as some songs to dance to. Its the perfect album for every feeling you might ever have. Theres also a song about standing up for yourself when you are the target of bullying. This is a great CD and I recommend it to anyone of any age... Read review
