I'd call it the RIGHT Lane!

Tatu among the top-ten selling artists in Russia with over 1 million legitimate copies of their Russian album sold and an uncountable number of pirate versions. Famous all over the world for their controversial image, screen-lesbians Julia Volkova and Lena Katina scored a smash with this hit all over the globe. Created by psychologist Ivan Shapolov, the controversial duo base their image on a cleverly researched taboo - what could be better then teenage schoolgirls? Teenage lesbian schoolgirls! The song of the album are centred around the girls 'relationship' with each other.

The songs?

Not Gonna Get Us - Fast-paced song with a dancey beat based around the idea of the two girls running away to be together. The seperation of the two voices creates an exciting sound and it really gets my blood pumping!

All the Things She Said: hit single about the confusion felt by young girls exploring their sexuality. A great fusion of rock and electro-pop, the Lenas girlish voice and Julia's harsher, combine to create a beautiful sound. My favourite of the album!

Show me love - A deeper song with an opening dialogue in Russian. The lyrics are extremely interesting and the fast paced chorus matches the feelings which are being expressed.

30 minutes - One of the quieter songs of the album with a beautiful piano melody. A slow and relaxing ballad. Woth closing your eyes and listening to!

How Soon is Now - Brilliant cover of The Smith's classic song. With its rocky sound and Julia's raspy voice taking much of the work it is an amazing track!

Clowns (Can you see me now?) - A fast and haunting track. One of my personal favourites.

Malchik Gay - A song about falling in love with a homosexual boy who does not return ones feelings. Very catchy with a great bass line. The lyrics are amusing!

Stars - A mixture of harmonic english verses and harsher russian rap, the lyrics are very emotional and you feel the pain expressed.

Ya Soshla S Uma - The original Russian version of All the Things She said. A similar sound to the english version but more pop than rock.

Nas ne Dogonjat - The original Russian version of Not Gonna Get Us. Basically the same as Not Gonna Get Us but in the original Russian the girls voice seem more natural so it sounds a lot more exciting!

Also included are three remixes - show me love, 30 minutes and malchik gay. They are good to listen to but feel pointless.

The album also contains some beautifully shot images of the girls and full lyrics to the songs. Sadly the lyrics to the Russian versions are in the native Cyrillic so it is difficult to singalong if you cannot read that alphabet.

tATu are currently in the studio recording their next album after the birth of Julia's baby so now is a good time to experience this great album in time for the next one!
