2084 - Jordan Fields

Advantages: some vintage tracks nicely compiled
Disadvantages: nothing new

..., banners over fields, good shepherds and tarot like figures moving in a crazy landscape fulfilling an enduring ritual. Another good song. "The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar" is vintage also with use of a repeating choral phrase mentioning Jordan and Gibraltar with the desired effect. "Hurricane" to me is most memorable for the violin, musically. It's dramatic effect as a protest/civil injustice song is indelible and carries on Dylan's desire to straighten out an unjust world. Not one of my favourites, but not bad. Forever Young encroaches on Dylan's publicised Christian trip, God is now closer to his Judaic roots. The idol with the eyes in it's iron head launch Jokerman to watch birds flying high by the light of the moon....from Infidels, superb. Advantages: Beauty and sincerity in an angels voice.
Disadvantages: She died young.

...or choke on the lower notes. Eva Cassidy's album is described on the front cover as One of the Greatest voices of her generation. I thoroughly agree. That was a remark made by the Guardian, but as poor Eva never lived to read it, perhaps it is another Guardian that keeps us listening to the songs which haunt and fill our lives with such joy. All this for seven pounds ninety nine. Couldn't resist it and glad I didn't. TRACK ONE Fields of Gold. 4.42 min I can only describe this track as a young girl remembering a love that has past. A young girl, whose thoughts of those days of innocence merit a song, and this is it. She recounts about past love, and sings in her own special way about thoughts we all have, thoughts that some of us don't have and wish we did. It shows her love of the countryside, the changing... Disadvantages: She tragically died

...I have loved Eva Cassidy`s voice since I discovered her about two years ago. She has the voice of an angel. She tragically died of cancer before she realised how her talent would be adored by millions. I have listened to Songbird so many times that I am scared that the cd will wear away, let me tell you about it I am sure you will want to listen to it once I have told you all about it. The cover is brown with a picture of Eva Cassidy in the centre of it, I get a lump in my throat when I see her picture as she was such a beautiful woman who`s chance in life was taken away by cancer. She had a talent for playing the guitar as well as singing, this is very apparent when you listen to her music.
