Advantages: A few scarface film samples Disadvantages: Nearly the whole thing
Many people have been influenced by the scarface film and the rap genre has especially referenced to it man songs. This is now an official compilation of songs with money, power and respect themes. as you would imagine, all are rap.
Put together in 2003, this def jam idea includes songs by Nas, Mobb Deep and Notorious BIG, some made especially for the album some old tracks that just fit. None appear in the film but there are samples and dialouge used from the picture.
Tracks
Its Mine - Mobb Deep & Nas. Scarface cues used as the sample in this one which was originally put t ogether in 99. A good relevant track to start the album
Yeo - Cam'ron. Samples Rush Rush which is used in the film, rush rush get the yayo may be more familiar. best bit about the song is actually the sample with cam'rons raps not adding much but loads ...
Music and Lyrcis; Not only a quality film but an even better soundtrack.
Including songs created for the film performed by both Hugh Grant (who actually has a great singing voice!) and also Drew Barrymore who adds to the fun of the album.
This album was created in order to demonstrate the songs from the hit film. The songs are upbeat, happy and just damn good fun. A classic example would be the song 'Pop! Goes my heart' if you've seen the film then listening to this soundtrack will without doubt make you want to shake that pop hip.
Just like most of other of Grant's films this is indeed a romantic comedy however more so comedy. This is emphasised in some of the lyrics expressed. Such as from 'Don't write me off just yet', 'Now I need you; despite the fact that you've killed all my plants.'
The songs on this album are fun ...
Advantages: entertaining, good dance songs, nice ballads Disadvantages: if you don't know the film you might not enjoy it that much
on the CD.
The third song is ?meaningless kiss?, which is sung by Hugh Grant. This is another song that is supposed to be from the 80 ties. Because it?s a ballad, it?s maybe not so obvious. I wouldn?t call it a masterpiece. The best thing this song has going for it, is that Hugh is singing it. ? For me, he could be singing the Alphabet and it would be great ;-)
The forth song is ?Entering Bootytown? which is another song sung by Haley Bennett. It?s very contemporary and upbeat. Another good song to dance to but I find it needs a few times listening to, to appreciate it.
My favourite (and probably everybodies who has got this album) is the fifth song which is the demo version of ?Way back into love?. It?s THE song of the film. It carries you through the whole film and I want to see someone who didn?t get out of the cinema singing this ...
