Advantages: All the benefits of the quadrophonic recording without the crackle
Disadvantages: the vinal still sounds warmer

...What can I add after that title? I have my original pressing first release vinal album which still sounds superb although getting a quadrophonic amp that still works is a bitch! This SACD presentation brings back much of the original feel and nearly the depth of the original which the cd lacked particuarily if used via naff kit. This is Floyd at their peak in my humble opinion and one of the defining albums of the twentieth century. If you don't already own it buy it now forget Seargent Pepper and th White Album this is the must buy album of all time. Ok you need a sacd player and a decent 5.1 amp to appreciate this album at its best having said that if you have the kit sit back and enjoy. It's hard to believe this album was recorded so long ago considering the multi level nature of the tracks that are so far ahead of their time.... Read review

Advantages: Unique sound, lots of energy, catchy tunes
Disadvantages: All too brief recording career

...and techno and indulging in liberal use of drum machines, they sound nothing like Nine Inch Nails, New Order or Gravity Kills. So I'll avoid trying to pigeonhole them and just tell you about their self-titled album. Released in 1999, "Radiator" is an energetic, catchy piece of work that can a) liven up a dull day, b) get you shaking your ass as you get ready for a night out, or c) keep you entertained while driving (you certainly won't be falling asleep at the wheel, that's for sure). Track by track, with my guesses about what they're about (all songs excellent unless otherwise stated): 1. I Am A song about confidence, or more specifically the confidence to keep your nerve when things are going wrong. Opens the album in a flourish of energy, a punk song with samples and breakbeats. Occasionally slows in pace for about half a second... Read review

Advantages: Amazing tracks, great musicians!

...Bela Fleck & The Flecktones...an amazing array of just about everything you can put into a band while keeping it edgy, listenable, and exciting for the listener. This album in particular I picked up a few months back, and it's barely left my player since. I just can't get over the musicianship and technical work put into each song with such detail. If you enjoy Bela Fleck or even just heard a few songs and want to hear more go grab this album quick, it gives you a great introduction to the band. --Sinister Minister-- Starts the album simple and funky enough with the work of the over-talented Victor Wooten on bass. Which is quickly joined by Bela Fleck on banjo and the ever elusive 'drumitar' worked by Future man. Which will set you in the groove of the song, and then enters an amazingly simple yet ever so catchy harmonica line... Read review
