Advantages: Positive feelings of the roots reggae music! Disadvantages: None
...Brilliant. Absolute genious. I would say it is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. Every song is fresh and a pleasure to listen to, the political and releigious undertones and lyrics of the songs are heartwarming and pridefilling, and the sheer geneous of the instrumental playing and the structure of the songs is top class. In comparisson to other of Bob Marley & The Wailers albums, this IS the BEST.
Without doubt, one of the most important albums of the 20thcentury - forget Nevermind, OK Computer, Appetite for Destruction or Revolver, Exodus is the ultimate audio experience from the greatest and most prolific songwriter of the last fifty years. This album is packed with the sweetest melodies you are ever likely to hear, thought provoking lyrics, and masterful guitar playing.
Really great positive vibrations of Bobby's reggae supa...

Advantages: Reinvigorated Davis, awesomely funky, with a superb band. Disadvantages: You're kidding right?
...Post 'Bitches Brew', amid the slow disintegration of the second great quintet, at a time when Columbia didn't know or even care how they marketed Miles, Davis produced this pearler. 'On the Corner' would follow, a series of mishandled live albums, and then ill health combined with his ongoing cocaine addiction would see Davis disappear for the greater part of the seventies.
'A Tribute to Jack Johnson' however is Davis at one with his material, interviews reveal this to be a project Davis dug, really dug. A longtime fan of boxing, and constant visitor to the ring to keep fit (relatively speaking for a cocaine addict with shot hips), in Jack Johnson Davis spotted a kindred spirit. The album was the soundtrack to a documentary about the legendary heavyweight. Johnson was THE great black hope in the early 20thcentury, an African American...

Advantages: beautifully composed, orchestrated and performed Disadvantages: not for the "sing-a-long" musician
...yes thats right folks! Gerald Finzi's music can be described as many things, but genius must be one of them.
Gerald Finzi was a British composer in the early 20thCentury. Though mostly known for his choral works and hymns, his orchestral pieces give him standing among the all-time musical greats.
With an incredible understanding of counterpoint and harmony all the music is atmospheric and paints scenes of true England: rolling hills and valleys, greenery and wildlife. It is true, that a musician's world can be portrayed through his work.
The clarinet works, performed by Robert plane, are masterfully directed and performed, keeping close to the original scores even throughout the cadenzas and most intricate of passages.
This is the album I put on for stress-busting, though its not for the sing-along istener (no lyrics!), nor...
