Paul Weller
I've always had mixed feelings about Paul Weller. I love all the old classics, and listen to them a lot. But this is the first time I've been through a new album of his that has stopped me in my tracks and made me sit down and listen. There are his vocals, a light touch, but often with a hard edge, difficult to carry out, Paul Weller does it so well.

Advantages: Great mix of sounds, can be listened to again and again Disadvantages: Not as good as Wild Wood or Stanley Road
22 Dreams is Paul Weller's ninth solo album and is much more of a concept album than any of his others. Ever since Wild Wood and Stanley Road were released in '93 and '95, Weller's career has slowly been declining, so you'd be forgiven for thinking this album isn't going to be great. On the contrary, it is fantastic!
The album is a mixture of sounds from Weller's career, from the rock of The Jam to the soul of The Style Council with some other new ... ...years old, many would say the time has passed for concept albums, this clearly proves them wrong.
Although not as good as Wild Wood or Stanley Road (pretty hard to beat) this is a stunning return to form for Weller, the 'Changingman' has reinvented his sound again, and the result is sublime. ...

Album Notes
'22 Dreams' is the ninth studio album from "The Modfather" Paul Weller. Recorded at Weller's Black Barn Studios in Surrey and produced by Simon Dine and Weller himself, the album is a mix of classic British indie rock that takes inspiration from Weller's three decades of musical output. Guest appearances come from the likes of Oasis' Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer, Ocean Colour Scene's Steve Cradock and ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. The double A side single 'Have You Made Your Mind Up/Echoes Around The Sun' is included.
