Review of Panorama - Colours of the Orchestra by berlioz

Advantages: Great performances of popular favourites and some rare gems
Disadvantages: Barely none, with perhaps slight issues with sound.

...'s extremely wild and raucous orchestration of Bach's famous D minor Toccata & Fugue, that is more than fitting in a collection such as this (Stokowski's electric personality fully transcribes to the numerous other orchestrations he has done in the past and this is no exception). Made in 1976, the performance of the Boston Pops Orchestra under Arthur Fiedler is exciting and rugged, and full of Stokowskian electricity. Bach rarely sounds quite as thrilling. Samuel Barber's ever-popular Adagio for Strings gets a slow and a slightly exaggerated performance from Leonard Bernstein and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, but the result is still quite affecting. Beethoven's Turkish March from the play "The Ruins of Athens" is delightful and a nice make-weight; after all there always has to be some kind of Turkish flavours to be found somewhere... "Land of Hope and Gloooryyy..."
Review of Elgar: Marches by berlioz

Advantages: Good show, hurrah for the British Empire!
Disadvantages: Hum, humph...

.... And if there is one thing that really helped his fame spread into truly stellar proportions, it had to be his melodic, brash, patriotic, and grandiose public marches the good ol' gents could very well identify with while waving their giant whiskers about, mumbling cockney and smoking those humungous cigars in their comfty clubs and discussing the Queen and India. ["Jolly chap, good sport," "Hear! Hear!" "Hrumphhh good rumbrum fair play humph."] So for all of you who fit the above criteria, have I got a soundtrack for you. The budget label Naxos has now released a compilation of Elgar marches that goes through just about all of his most famous genre pieces. In fact the only big march that is left out is the Imperial March of 1897, but it has been recorded so many times (Naxos has already included it on their recording of the First Symphony) that it is good... Rush into the 90s
Review of Power Windows [Remastered] - Rush by Simoncook1

Advantages: A good combination of new and old.
Disadvantages: May not appeal to hardened fans

...that was a hit around the world (with a top 40 placing in the UK) is 'The Big Money'. Blending classic Rush rock with synths it discussess the corruption in the world. Geddy Lee's voice is particularly powerful in this song as he belts out his almost mocking lyrics. The theme is continued throughout the album as Rush attempt to produce a total concept album similar to their earlier albums such as 'Caress of Steel'. This starts of with quite a profound beat, somewhat like a military march. The guitar begins out very simple and quite. It tells the tale of the creation of the atomic bomb and how it has changed human kind forever. This is a changing song that features several different styles as it builds up in speed and power. Slightly off theme, this song is about the strength endurance and desires required to win... Read review
