Advantages: DMX's RUFF RYDERS ANTHEM / superb lyrics, amazing DARK production, gritty flow - BITES!
Disadvantages: DMX's lyrics can be X-plicit and frightening for young children - SO WATCH OUT, GRRR!

...disadvantages however, though not too bad. There are a few average tracks like CRIME STORY where the production and DMX's flow lack sufficient bite to sound interesting to my eardrums. The pointless, MICKEY (SKIT) is the one track (at No. 11) which really blemishes the quality of 'IT'S DARK AND HELL IS HOT'. Finally, I must say this CD is not recommended for people who listen only to POP music, e.g. Elton John, Rachel Stevens, S Club 7, Victoria Beckham etc. 'IT'S DARK AND HELL IS HOT' will appeal to hardcore RAP music fans especially those who are familiar with the Ruff Ryders Crew! Advantages: The old Cappadonna from 'Ironman 1996' returns on LOVE IS THE MESSAGE - TRUE GRIT
Disadvantages: Terrible production, cliched lyrics, Da Brat / SHAKE DAT and WE KNOW - TRUE GARBAGE!

...liking and that goes especially for the middle of his verse: '....I floss rhymes I loss rhymes I got it like that Y'all bi**h ni**as I toss times I got rhymes that'll still rock you....' 8-off has the audacity to brag about his skill, claiming that his rhymes will hit the ears of rap listeners while the rapping style of other rappers remains whack. Sorry 8-off, but when your rhymes are monosyllabic, lacking clever, street poetry and lyrical complexity it's difficult for you to accuse other rappers as coming off untalented. Take a GOOD look at yourself in the mirror first. While 8-off covers the second verse of THE GRITS in an over-simplified fashion, Cappadonna raps the first and third verses.
