...When I say that my grandmother's maiden name was Davies, and that she was the last person in the family who had any understanding of the Welsh language, you will probably understand why I love Welsh choral music so much. Well, apart from the fact that Wales is truly the land of song, with the best history of choral music in the entire world., that is! This CD (produced by EMI and Music for Pleasure) has a wide range of Welsh Male voice Choirs from all over Wales. The competition between the different choirs and indeed the different parts of Wales are fiercely competitive. But the strong, intense rivalry is always friendly. Well, MOST of the time, that is! The songs on this CD (I am ,of course, listening to it as I write this review!) are all perfectly sung and perfectly accompanied, as the producers have chosen the cream of Welsh male... Read review

...If you like male voice choirs, you will love this album! Its rather hard to find a copy, but occasionally one turns up in the form of cassette, record, or very rarely, cd. Released in the Early 90\'s this is by Far Llanelli Male Voice\'s best allbum, and one cant help but be captivated by the power of the Welsh voices as they sing with heartfelt passion. This Album has some time old classics on it, like Pie Jesu, and the Volga boat song, but it also has some hits from the 80\'s like any dream will do, although it doesnt make it any more cool, and at the time, Im sure many would have prefered Jason Donovans rendition, Llanell Male Voice Choir (Cor Meibion) take it on, and do it well. The choir still performs today, but many , men from this recording will have undoubtedly have passed on, most of their work has been spectacular... Read review

...of the choir is "spreading the Word through music." The songs are not all the same. Some are good old-fashioned thumping good Gospel hymn style songs, others are more contemplative and thoughtful, emphasising the search of men and woman to find peace through the words of the Lord. The singing of the 50 plus strong choir is perfect and the backing music is flawlessly provided. At no point does anyone or anything overpower anyone or anything else, the performances and production are all as near as to perfect as it is possible for humans to attain. Perhaps real Gospel is not everyone's bag, but I have to say that I like it. I also happen to like the religious music of other faiths and creeds too. Perhaps I shall have to see if it will be possible to review my Krishna Dass CDs at some point in the future. I was able to find this CD in a sale... Read review
