...A sympathetic collection of one of the most significant musicals of the Great War era. Very interesting for music historians and those seeking wartime nostalgia. "The Bing Boys are Here" was a comedy musical revue with a varying programme of songs. It opened on the 19th April 1916. The story was light hearted and provided a welcome entertainment for the troops on leave as well as the general population. It reflected the hope for the future in one of the darkest periods of the Twentieth Century - the story centering around the two brothers Bing leaving home and heading towards the City to seek their fortunes. Unfortunately doesn't include one of the most famous standards - probably the only one still sung today: "Let the Great Big World Keep Turning" Perhaps a better attempt at transferring the original recordings to digital... Advantages: Beautiful, romantic voice and songs
Disadvantages: None that I have found

...such is “Long Ago and Far Away” and another: “It had to be You”. My favourite from disc one has to be “You’ll Never Know” – one of his biggest hits and a song which won an Academy Award in 1943. Disc Two: Again a famous starter – “It Might As Well Be Spring”. Many more film songs such as “It’s a Grand Night for Singing”, “How are things in Glocca Morra?” and “There’s No Business like Show Business”. Although the name of Dick Haymes may be unfamiliar the names of the guests on this disc will not as two of them were Bing Crosby and Judy Garland. Disc Three: Some more well known songs – “It’s Magic”, “Say it isn’t So”, “Nature Boy” and “You’d be so Nice to Come Home to”. Probably now better known sung by other stars. Advantages: Production is ill throughout; some GREAT songs

...Earlier this year, The Game's debut album The Documentary dropped and instantly became the first G-Unit album that was actually praised by the far-too-often critical underground community. The album was hot due to Game's impressive flow and a tremendous surplus of great beats. A lot of people were viewing this as a turn around for the G-Unit, who had already been established as a group with a consistent record of horrid music which brought nothing but pain to the ears. Many people thought "hey! 50 Cent has a hot verse!" or "wow... those beats are killer", and yeah, that was true, but I still refused to conform to the fact that G-Unit was going to continue their momentum. For you see, unlike Banks, Buck, and Yayo, 50 Cent, The Game actually has talent and hunger, and this alone made me question his good album; I saw it as nothing more... Read review
