First of all, for all you Lemon Jelly Virgins out there, a little background:
Franglen and Deakin initially released three limited-circulation EPs, The Bath (1998), The Yellow (1999), and The Midnight (2000), which they produced into a massive album in 2002. Lemonjelly.KY, which was a huge success. Their second album Lost Horizons, was released in 2002, and was another big hit. The album featured the singles "Space Walk" and "Nice Weather For Ducks" and was nominated for the 2003 Mercury Music Prize and a BRIT Award for Best Dance Act category in 2004.
This album '64 - '95 released in 2005, shows a harder and more interesting sound than previous albums. It's called 64-95 as each track features a single sample taken from between 1964 and 1995, incorporating each sample in a host of imaginative ways. It has a track featuring vocals by William Shatner.
The album was released alongside a DVD under the same title, with each of the album's audio tracks acompanied with a brilliant visual display in both 2D and 3D. Some of these visuals are progressive and would work as stand-alone music videos, while others are more repetitious, ever-changing variations of a given visual theme.

Track listing 1. '88 (Come Down On Me) 2. '68 (Only Time) 3. '93 (Don't Stop Now) 4. '95 (Make Things Right) 5. '79 (The Shouty Track) 6. '75 (Stay With You) 7. '76 (The Slow Train) 8. '90 (Man Like Me) 9. '64 (Go) - Lemon Jelly & William Shatner
64 - '95 is the second studio album (third if you count the compilation Lemonjelly.KY) by Lemon Jelly. The concept album contains tracks that take samples from songs recorded between the years 1964 and 1995. The number that precedes the song title denotes from which year the sample is taken.
The album is rather different from their previous two releases in that it has a darker sound and is influenced by more modern sounding music. To avoid confusion over the matter, the band included a sticker on the sleeve stating, "This is our new album, it's not like our old album."
A hidden track, "Yes!", appears before track 1 on the special edition CD version of the album.
The album if brilliant but does not superceed Lost Horizons in my opinion which is still my all time favorite. The samples used throughout all the tracks shows an amazing musical gift this group has. I'd reccomend this album to anyone who likes Massive Attack, Mint Royale and Kosheen.
