Fantastic opening track and good accompanaiment to film

I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with this album when I first bought it shortly after watching the film (which I thought was fantastic). Firstly, the CD does not contain the freestyle sessions from the movie, which are, in my eyes, the highlight of the motion picture. Secondly, the overall quality of the tracks is not as solid as I expected.
The album opens with 'Lose Yourself', which is sublime. However, the rest of the album fails to reach the bar set by the opening track, which is disappointing. 'Adrenaline Rush' could be considered a highlight, but isn't really anything special. Jay-Z appearing on track 7 lifts the competition slightly, but other than that this album isn't really anything special, and lacks the grit other rap albums have.
If you loved the film and are a huge fan of Eminem then this is worth buying. The record is by no means a failure, but it could be better. It's a shame that a fantastic film about music is let down by its soundtrack.
