Review of Definitive Singles Collection 1984-2004, The [ECD] - A-Ha by  sobelecta

Advantages: Very good first half.
Disadvantages: Bad second half.

...A-Ha will probably always be remembered mostly for their hit single in the 80's ' Take On Me' and the video that accompanied it, which featured groundbreaking animation at the time. But there was always a lot more to a-ha then this, as shown on this greatest hits collection. While there is that excellent hit, there are also other notable hits, including 'Hunting High And Low', 'The Sun Always Shines on TV' and 'The Living Daylights', which all have a great melancholic quality to them which is echoed in the sound of bands around today like Coldplay and Keane, who have both stated that they are huge fans of a-ha. And rightfully so, a-ha have a knack for writing excellent pop songs, which is showed beautifully on the album 'Hunting High And Low'. But this isn't that album. Acoustic Love, definitely one for the collection
Review of Acoustic Love Vol.1 (A Stunning Collection Of Today's Finest Singer Songwriters) [PA] - Various Artists by  grace5000

Advantages: amazing compilation of songs
Disadvantages: a few not to my taste, only a bare amount

...A wonderful collection of purely acoustic songs. Inlucding the likes of James Blunt, David Gray, Maroon 5, Eva Cassidy, Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley and many more. Included in the album are two seperate cds, each as good as each other i especially like the fact there are 19 tracks to each cd which brings the total number of tracks to 38. The only downside could be that there were a few songs that i didnt recognise but have grown to like through various listens. An amazing compilation of tracks including information on various artists albums whose tracks are includded on the cd. I would definitely recoommend this album as it had enhanced some very nice emotions and created a very calmly atmosphere for either daytime or before you hit the hay. Delve into Norman Cooks collection
Review of Norman Cook Collection - Fatboy Slim by  dsra999

Advantages: Gives Normans fans an idea of how his musical taste and talent has developed
Disadvantages: May not be to everyone's taste

...Norman Cook really first arrived on the music scene by developing his dj'ing skills on Brightons club scene at the early age of 18 whilst he was studying at the University of Brighton. A little while on in 1985 a friend of Cook's named Paul Heaton had a new guitar group called the Housemartins, but unfortunately they had just lost their bass player, so Heaton then contacted Cook who agreed to be their new bass player. The Housemartins had a few big hits such as Happy Hour and Caravan Love but by 1988 they had split up, this is where Cook then wen't off and his career started to get going. The album "The Fatboy Slim/Norman Cook collection" gives an insight into how Cook's career has progressed along with his musical tastes, for example after the split of the Housemartins Cook soon formed the group Beats International which...
