Advantages: Good setting, good bands, good beer, good crowd! Disadvantages: Sound not amazing, some people not skanking!!!!!
...SKASKASKA!!!! Morecombe up near Blackpool was the host town to Skafest UK, a ska and reggae festival set in a sunny location!!! This was one cool festival line-up, a mix of original 70's two-tone bands such as The Selector, The trojans, and Bad Manners and third wave Ska-Punk from the likes of Spunge, Shootin Goon, Lightyear and Mu330!! The Morecombe Dome was the perfect setting and although the sound quality was not perfect, the crowd seemed to enjoy every skanking minute!!! A good mix of bands made this festival a success, something for everyone and good beer!!!!!! Roll on Skafest 2001!...

Advantages: Superb Spanish ska Disadvantages: I prefer their album, El Vals Del Obrero
...I first came across Ska-P when I saw them live at the San Fermin Bull-running festival in Pamplona in 1997. Their energetic performance was one of the highlights of the festival and so I went and bought their first 2 albums, Ska-P & El Vals Del Obrero. At that time I didn't speak a word of Spanish and didn't have much idea about Spanish life and culture. However, through listening to their music I started to pick up some Spanish and it also gave me an insight into Spanish culture.
QUE CORRA LA VOZ is their 4th album and in my opinion it is their 2nd best behind EL VALS DEL OBRERO. Stand out tracks are CONSUMO GUSTO which is about the perils of this consumer society that we live in, McDOLLAR which is about a certain fast food chain and INSENSIBILIDAD which is about neglected pets bought as presents for christmas.
My overall rating...

Advantages: Feel-good punk-ska music Disadvantages: Not easy to get hold of
...Not many bands can boast collaborations with the likes of Green Day and Reel Big Fish on their debut album. However, American-fronted Surrey ska band Fandangle can.
The new album, Fly Away, was recorded in Zebrahead's LA recording studio, featuring collaborations with Reel Big Fish frontman Aaron Barrett and Green Day's Jason Freese.
It features songs such as "I'm High", the band's live favourite "Cheap Escape", "Oliver Twist" and "Laws of Gravity", and is the perfect "windows down" soundtrack for summer 2008. It is highly recommended to fans of Reel Big Fish, Spunge and Less Than Jake, who will note the band's influences on the music, but also see that they have developed their own unique style.
With the exterior artwork designed by the two guitarists, and the interior drawings provided by drummer Jack Usher, it's clear to see...
