Advantages: Collection of the greatest hits Disadvantages: Only 10 tracks
...I’m a jazz/blues player, but I’m strictly a woodwind one! But I have exceptions lol. Which was why I was surprised when listening to a compilation CD that had been made for me, that I fell in love with the first track- Feels So Good by ChuckMangione. He plays the flugelhorn and I think it was the gentle, sensuous, smooth, sultry tone of Chuck’s playing that really made me sit up and listen. It is also simply expressed; he takes his time with some tunes; he savours every note. It was then that, and a combination of his playing, and the pieces that he was playing, because he uses simple tunes, and then builds then up with structure, instrumentation, improvisation, tempo, ornamentation, and accompaniment. That’s how I feel he plays anyway!
I then went on to Amazon to purchase this and the price was £12.99, which I thought was fairly...

Advantages: Beautiful music, amazing playing Disadvantages: only 10 tracks!
...Hey Ciao!! For those of you who may have read some of my earlier reviews, I did a review on the artist ChuckMangione, and one of his albums. I was recently introduced to his most recent album (well, I say recent, it was released in 2000!), and it’s called Everything For Love, and I think it’s named in reference to one of the album tracks, I Do Everything For Love. The concept of the album is really nice, or as Chuck said in the front cover, ‘ having been blessed with lots of love in my life, it should come as no surprise that this CD is filled with compositions of mine that are love songs’. It’s recommended retail price is £13.99, but we got it off Amazon.co.uk for around 8 pounds. I think nowadays people rarely play the RRP for CDs!
Another thing I like about this CD is that it is a love themed CD, but it’s not slushy and soppy, you...

Advantages: Great if you love Bob Marley Disadvantages: Some good songs absent
...Peter Tosh is probably best known as a founding member of 'The Wailers'. A typical Jamaican kid who dreamed of Reggae stardom and found sucess after meeting Bob Marley and the other founding members of the band. I'm not a huge expert on the man so if you want more details look else where, but I thought as noone else had done a review of him I should write something.
This album is a collection of his solo work which never really charted that highly although he took part in a few big name tours.
The album starts with a great cover of Chuck Berry's Johnny B Goode probably his most successful chart hit. After that follows the usual supply of anti-war and pro-cannabis songs. The man's quality shines throughout the album proving himself not just as an excellent singer/lyricist but also a talanted guitarist to boot....
