Advantages: A great CD start to finish Disadvantages: There's no volume two!
...I just got this CD after downloading tunes from Rashanim's website. It's been on constant play in my car and on the ipod. Highlights include "Ahavah," which could be a weird Twin Peaks soundtrack tune, and the all-out rocker "Zemanim." Master gunslinger Marc Ribot sits in for a few tracks. It would have been great to hear him on the whole record, but the trio proves to be a powerhouse with or without other musicians.
I've recommended Masada Rock to several friends, and everyone who got it loves it. I haven't seen Rashanim live, but word from a friend in NYC is that they out-rock the CD many times over.
Whether you're into rock, surf music, jam music, jazz, Jewish music, whatever-- 'Masada Rock' has it all....

Advantages: Loads of extras and unreleased songs Disadvantages: none
...This is the first ever DVD from the British trio from Teighmouth in Devon.
They released Showbiz in 1999 and a second album OOS (Origin Of Symmetry) in 2001. They also released two limited edition singles with this dvd and one of them had a cover of Cant Take My Eyes Off You which was used Illegally on the nescafe advert, Muse then sued nescafe and put all thw money into charitys.
Muse have a good reputation for a live band having wone Kerrangs best live act 2 years in a row. This DVD also contains unreleased material that you cannot find anywhere else.
The band themselves arent just some kids who are out to make money, these are the only band in the world at the minute who dare to rock like its the last time they will ever play before the four horsemen come down and take them away.
Although you may not know many of the songs...

NEW BORN MUSE Review ofOrigin Of Symmetry - Museby
Chris_Padden
Advantages: See op Disadvantages: See op
...Muse have had a huge amount of pressure on them in the music business. Being compares to several top bands, most notably Radiohead and a superb debut 'Showbiz' meant that they have a lot to live up to in the future. 'Origins of Symmetry' received a lot of publicity, and if all the pressure could have cracked them, it really does not show. Still a great second attempt, if not up to the standards of the first, this is a great piece of music.
'Origins of Symmetry' is the second album from Muse, a trio from pretty close to me down here in sunny Devon, they are South Devon bouys from Teignmouth. Matt Bellamy is the lead singer as well as pianist and guitarist, bass with Chris Wolstenhome and drummer Dominic Howard. Their first album Showbiz won them a lot of praise and are currently signed to Maverick Records. This is only their second...
