A-Tom-Ic Jones - Tom Jones

Advantages: swinging and complex album
Disadvantages: few 'oldies'

...With this album, Tom Jones has proved that the “Tiger” still has sharp teeth. Who would have thought that after all this time, serving the stages of Las Vegas, the ageing Tom Jones would become so much better. Within the last years he has produced some really good music and has definitely set another highlight to his career. I have never regretted buying this album. To hear Tom Jones with Moose T, the Cardigans, Robbie Williams and others is absolutely amazing. It’s an album you can listen to anywhere and to any occasion. I highly recommend it.... Read review

Advantages: So much talent
Disadvantages: Takes a while to grow on you

...I've always had a lot of respect for Tom Jones but never bought anything he had done. After hearing "Burning down the house" with the Cardigans thought I'd buy this even though I'd heard mixed reviews about it. I was a bit dissapointed after the first listen, liked a few tracks but that was all. Decided to give it a chance and it began to grow on me, and now I play it all the time. Most of the tracks are covers but Tom brings his own style to each of them. Each artist compliments Tom and vice-versa. There are some stunning tracks "Mama told me not to come" with the Stereophonics being the pick of the bunch. Even if you dont like Tom Jones but this CD now!!... Read review
