I remember Band of Gold being on the television a few years ago. A series based around the lives of prostitutes in Bradford, it was very gritty and entertaining.
Three series were made in total and have been released all together as a boxset.
I purchased this boxset and sat down to take a trip down memory lane.
Written by Kay Mellor, it was her first successful television programme.

Advantages: Beautiful music, amazing playing Disadvantages: only 10 tracks!
Hey Ciao!! For those of you who may have read some of my earlier reviews, I did a review on the artist ChuckMangione, and one of his albums. I was recently introduced to his most recent album (well, I say recent, it was released in 2000!), and it?s called Everything For Love, and I think it?s named in reference to one of the album tracks, I Do Everything For Love. The concept of the album is really nice, or as Chuck said in the front cover, ? having been blessed with lots of love in my life, it should come as no surprise that this CD is filled with compositions of mine that are love songs?. It?s recommended retail price is £13.99, but we got it off Amazon.co.uk for around 8 pounds. I think nowadays people rarely play the RRP for CDs!

When I put the CD on, the first track was Feels so Good, which I felt was a really good one to start off with (for reasons I?ll explain later!). The tracks that follow tell a story, and I love it. They tell of the music that went to earn Chuck his awards, they went to feature in films and bring them to life. They also bring to life Chuck?s live concerts (always sold-out shows!). Land of Make Believe was from a live show and it actually went on to earn Chuck a nomination for a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Act. These 10 tracks are from the best of Chuck?s 9 albums he did for A&M who are the company who did the CD.
The thing I have found with these tracks are that they seem to divide in half-some have a tune and a length which really hold your attention e.g. Children of Sanchez theme ...
