To often albums released under there label 'compilation of previously unreleased material' aren't worth the paper the track listing's printed on a, so it should be enc cooked ouraging to know that this is not the case here. From the opening thirty seconds Hendrix blue of 'shit bad number 9' to the concluding cover of the Beatles' classic 'getting better', Gomez revealed in the opportunity to show you that they've always been about. Drawling deep American melodies are off course the band's trademark, but just as synonymous with the name of Gomez are perfectly placed guitar breaks and these are given all the room need to move on the less commercial material evident here. At the epicentre of this collection is the epic 'buena vista' and as it draws you deeper into its distant horizon it's hard not to recognise that grey and Co. Thrived on such a vehicle for their talents. If Gomez bore you then this album is unlikely to convert you, but if their previous work has tickled your fancy then the likes of subconsciously medic flavours should so of tickle those inclinations harder than ever before.
