During their relatively short recording career (eight years), the Beatles created 13 albums, almost all of which are serious candidates for the best album of all time. about to split. After recording the ragged-but-right Let It Be, the group held on for this ambitious effort, an album that was to become their best-selling. Though all four contribute to the first side's writing, John Lennon's hard-rocking, "Come Together" and "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" make the strongest impression. A series of song fragments edited together in suite form dominates side two; its portentous, touching, official close ("Golden Slumbers" / "Carry That Weight" / "The End") is nicely undercut, in typical Beatles fashion, by Paul McCartney's cheeky "Her Majesty", which follows. --Rickey Wright

During their relatively short recording career (eight years), the Beatles created 13 albums, almost all of which are serious candidates for the best album of all time. Of these albums, Abbey Road is probably the favourite among fans and critics. After the disastrous Get Back sessions (later released as the Let It Be album), the Beatles proved that they could ... ...makes Abbey Road so unique and unlike anything the Beatles had previously done is the fact that most of the entire second side of the album (or last half of the CD) is made up of a medley of unfinished songs. Each song seems to flow right into the next, and the entire medley is just a work of genius. Of course, the first half of the album is just as good, starting off with the hits Come Together and Something. Abbey Road showcases some of the three ...

The Best Album Review ofAbbey Road - Beatles (The)by
BLUESY
Advantages: Every single song included, every single note I would even say. Disadvantages: The price of this and every album by this band, at least here in Spain...and the fact that this album happened to be the last this band recorded (not released)
...why they joined again, at Abbey Road Studios, in London, to record a new album, probably their best one, probably knowing it was going to be their last one as well. Martin told them the way to record it, just like as usual, with every one knowing what the rest ones were doing, and doing it right. Years after, every Beatle member would agree in the good feelings around those abbey road sessions. They knew, as I said, it was going to be their last ... ...to live really close to abbey road studios, so he was usually the first member to get into the studios, and he usually started recording some things waiting for the rest of the members of the band. One day, waiting for the others, he recorded this short song, that would became the last track of their best album. It was so short, that it wouldn’t appear in the credits of the album, so it would sound by surprise, and after 20 seconds of silence after ...

Overall, this album must score 10 out of 10.
The album sleeve is also one of the most famous world-wide album sleeves, with the four band members strolling across a zebra crossing outside the Abbey Road studios in London.

Advantages: Their finest work Disadvantages: It was their last work
Abbey Road, released on September 26, 1969, was the last album recorded by the Beatles, and although Let It Be hit the shelves in 1970, that album was recorded before Abbey Road. During their legendary career as a band, the Beatles recorded several albums which could be described as masterpieces, but in my opinion, Abbey Road tops the list. Abbey Road presents the listener with a virtual audio montage of music that is as varied as anything the Beatles ... ...roll history. The tracks on Abbey Road, and my impressions of each, are as follows:
1. Come Together--Lennon pinched a Chuck Berry guitar lick as the central riff in this song, and McCartney's bass playing, melodic and wandering, compliments it perfectly. The lyrics are typical Lennon gibberish, although there are some personal references--"He got Ono sideboard" is a clear allusion to Yoko, who by this time was always by his side. The tune is largely ...

Advantages: The songs man, the songs Disadvantages: It heralded the end of an epoch
Abbey Road was my first Beatles album and is also my favourite. It is a true masterpiece, a work of which I never tire. I first bought my own copy up in January 1998, and I regret not having one for the nineteen years of my life that preceded it. Since I was a late Beatles developer, I was determined to catch up and I’m very glad that I did. I have become convinced that there are certain sounds that benefit the soul, certain melodies that, ... ...will, but I believe that Abbey Road falls into this category, once you hear it, you will not forget a single note.
Furthermore, the album cover itself is a classic. It is one of the most recognisable images in modern history. I challenge anybody with a sense of humour to go to Abbey Road and not walk across that Zebra Crossing. It’s just impossible! Or perhaps it’s just me.
Another interesting part of the Abbey Road album is the ‘Paul ...
