Advantages: Catchy, fun dance tune. Disadvantages: You'll get sick of it quickly.
...Okay, let's face it - the lyrics on this cheesy Europop song are hardly poetic. But "I'm blue, da be dee, da ba da.." sticks in your head endlessly, and isn't that a quality that all top hits possess?
Yes, you'll get sick of it and yes, we're dealing with highly manufactured pop. But "Blue", one-hit wonder as it may be, was one great dance track. It reverberated out of clubs and from parties everywhere for months after its release, and you could hardly turn on the TV without seeing the video.
It's not quality music, but it's definitely fun whilst it lasts....

Advantages: Experimental, like nothing else Disadvantages: Not easy listening
...They were weird back in the day and they’re still weird today, and still led by Genesis P Orridge. Cosey Fanni Tutti plays guitar.
Musically, it’s hard to say much about it, other than avant-garde.
Opener “Vow of silence” — I listened to the song, looked at the title and laughed — is a discordant instrumental. It starts off with a rhythm like a heart beat, sounding like tribal drums and with sampled tribal screams, giving it an eerie, disconcerting quality. The rhythm is hypnotic and holds it all together in a way that’s almost pleasing. Almost.
Track two, “Rabbit snare” is equally unsettling, though much slower and with vocals. It opens with a jazzy piano and some haunting, bluesy cornet. The lyrics start off with “Why are you scared?” It’s more musical than the first.
