Abide With Me - Gaelforce Orchestra (The)

Advantages: Very reasonable price, good variety
Disadvantages: Hard to get hold of!

...I was recently in a HMV store in Portsmouth and stumbled across this CD, and was amazed. Being only £2.99, I thought this to be superb value for money. Having been released years ago, I consider this CD to be a little treasure, as I haven't been able to find another copy anywhere. Online on Amazon the product has been discontinued and elsewhere I have been unable to find it. I would recommend a look at Ebay if you are interested in this product, as it runs on a global scale. The cd itself I found to be brilliant. Although I am a teenager, I am addicted to the Anderson tv shows, above all Thunderbirds. Therefore, this CD was the one for me as it not only features Thunderbirds, but also Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and Stingray. I specifically bought this CD for these particular tunes, but there are many more on the CD so it is suitable... Read review

...Metallica, the men, the myths, the legends. Ever think that you would here a band of such sorts playing with a symphony orchestra? Well? Why are you laughing? This CD is just that and so much more. Metallica perform some of their greatest tracks with a symphony orchestra playing with them right behind them! An idea that many would shrug off and say it would never work. Well when you hear this you will be thinking again, trust me. There truly is nothing quite like this and has to be heard to be believed. Even the heaviest Metallica songs make it to the album, songs such as 'Master of puppets' and 'The call of Ktulu' all with a sympony orchestra chucked in for good measure. One thing left to say, why are you still sitting here reading this when you could be out buying the thing? Now go go go!... Read review

...This album was recommended to me by a friend and it is the best £16 I have ever spent. The blending of some of Metallica greatest songs with the classic music of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra led my Michael Kamen creates a truly magical musical experience. The Album starts with two quiet orchestral pieces, Ecstasy Of Gold (The tune from “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” and Call Of The Ktula, before going right to the heart of Metallica music with Master Of Puppets and finishing with Enter Sandman and Battery.
