Advantages: Spanking good Scando metal Disadvantages: Is there a happy ending...?
..."We are gathered here tonight to lay to rest Abigail la Fay, who we now know was first born dead on the seventh day of July 1777. Abigail must be nailed to her coffin with seven silver spikes, one through each arm hand and knee, and then the last of the seven must be drawn through her throat, so that she may never rise and cause evil again..."
So begins the chilling tale of Abigail, conceived, composed and recorded by evil genius KingDiamond; a Danish export, although one that's significantly less successful than bacon.
If the idea of some Scandinavian buffoon jumping about dressed like an outlandish vampire in the Christopher Lee stylee, while brandishing a crucifix purportedly made of human bone and pretending to invoke evil spirits amuses you as much as it does me, then read on. KingDiamond is, undoubtedly, yer man.

Advantages: Bowie at his creative best. Disadvantages: Sounds a little dated now.
...Cited by punks as one of the few artists they respected, Bowie released this tribute to George Orwell's "1984" in 1974, soon after jettisoning his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust. Opening with "Future Legend", the LP is set in some undefined future world peopled with freaks and mutants: Diamond Dogs, Halloween Jack, Big Brother, etc. In this post-nuclear wasteland Bowie lays down the tracks for a future world: the majesty of "Sweet Thing", the paranoid love song "Rock 'N' Roll With Me", and the hit single "Rebel Rebel" all go to prove that this was Bowie at his peak - remember him this way....

not bad Review ofThese Days [Remastered] - Bon Joviby
lewiscrofts
Advantages: sambora Disadvantages: bon jovi
...This is an alright album. It is a little inconsistent. There are as ever with bon jovi albums some good rocking tunes (something for the pain – sticks in my mind) but there is also some real pap. The guitar work by richie sambora rescues a lot of the songs but there are some that are beyond even his touch (hearts breaking even). The album ends on some good low key acoustic and piano numbers which are probably the best on the album – diamond ring and bitter wine. The latter is a truly delicate song which is also lyrically far superior to the rest of the trash on the cd. It is very normal run of the mill bon jovi – nothing new here....
