Album Notes: Personnel: Sheila Chandra, Steve Coe (vocals, various instruments); Stuart Bruce (guitar); Jim Mills (didgeridoo); Paul James (bagpipe).
Album Reviews: Musician (10/96, p.86) - "Chandra is brilliant. Each cut is a long drone - some airy, some murky - with various subliminal melodies plucked out of the overtones. Lots of bands have flirted with drones, eventually arriving at a recognizable song. For Chandra, the song is the drone..."
Advantages: Extremely varied and moving, symphonic style Disadvantages: Waiting until December for number three
...is oozing with emotion and expressive playing, and it is hugely varied. There is the dark sinister rumblings of Khazad-Dum to the lilting strings of Rivendell, the scale of mood is wide indeed. There are also appearences from Enya, Icelandic troubadour Emiliana Torrini
and folk singer SheilaChandra.
As I am reviewing two soundtracks in one opinion, I wont plunge into a track by track review (which would be 37 tracks- yikes), but I'll offer you some of the highlights, of which there are many.

Advantages: Great lyrics, excellent vocals! Disadvantages: None i can think of..!
...Oh my god, this is one of the best songs i ever heard! It's amazing, i think Jamie T is an OUTSTANDING musician! I'd reccomend this song to anyone, it's been on repeat ever since i heard it! This is the second release, as Jamie T had to change the first one because some of the lyrics were taken directly from Sherlock Holmes and it was..copywrited?! Anyways, i much prefer the new version, because it's not as edited and the lyrics are great :) The music video is quite weird though, it's got monkeys in it! I don't really get it but just as lnog as the song is good, i don't mind! The second release of 'Sheila' is fairly new and wasn't released that long ago, and it's still high in the charts! So yeah, listen to SHEILA!...

Advantages: One of the most powerful scores for a long time Disadvantages: I have none

One of the best cues that bring back the Elvish material and the Ring themes comes in "The Leave Taking," opening with the Elvish theme, followed by the Lothlorien theme, reminding us of the Seduction of the Ring theme and finally with the History of the Ring theme and the Prophecy theme. The vocal soloists have also undergone great changes. Replacing the boy-soprano Edward Ross is Ben del Maestro, who appears in "Forth Eorlingas" and "Isengard Unleashed," Isabel Bayrakdarian provides the more ethereal moments for Arwen in "Evenstar," SheilaChandra offers a more Oriental Elvish sound in "Breath of Life" and Elizabeth Fraser returns in "Isengard Unleashed," being the only old voice in the score.
The choral writing is as potent as it was in the first part. "Foundations of Stone" gives a wonderful example of the thematic...
