The film is basically about a boy entering his early teens, and having to go through many difficulties, including having divorced parents, no apparent friends and Will Grant in a surprisingly cool role. The film brings about laughs, sadness, and a lot of atmosphere, and the album reflects all of this perfectly.
The Soundtrack also has a lot of influence from Badly Drawn Boy’s ... ...all the things I learnt About A Boy’. The song is catchy and has a good tune and features in several parts of the film. A definite 10/10.
Dead Duck, 0:46 – Don’t be put off by the title, this short and calming instrumental song isn’t all that bad. 6/10
Above You, Below Me, 0:46 – A fast paced, moving song that makes full use of instruments and lyrics. Possibly a little annoying. 7/10

...this album the soundtrack for about a boy by badly drawn boy after watching the film as the music was catchy.
I had never really taken notice of BDB (Badly drawn boy) before, maybe because his music style is really of the norm.
Although this album is very enjoyable indeed the songs seem to be a mixture of country rock and really anything else that goes you may be surprised a few songs into the album.
Track 12 exit stage right" is a small piano ... ...version of something to talk about with a little more mixed in.
Track 7 "Silent sigh" merges with track 6 and starts with a piano solo with a drum beat and BDB singing in a sigh sort off sound if that?s possible.
Track 8 " wet, wet ,wet" is again a short acoustical to bridge to the next song again I feel a bit to short as when you start humming its stopped.
Track 9 " River-sea-ocean" is not my favorites, again the song is chirpy but very similar ...

...You Reach, Something To Talk About and Above You, Below Me. Not only did Badly Drawn Boy achieve his probably aim to write songs perfectly for the film but at the same time these songs are great to listen to whether you have seen the film or not. This was my introduction to Badly Drawn Boy and based on it I would not only encourage others to buy it but also to get some of Badly Drawn Boy's other work. ...BadlyDrawnBoy first shot to prominence with his debut album The Hour of Bewilderbeast, in 2000. This was a fine debut and was recognised with a Mercury Music Prize for Best Album.
Born Damon Gough, he began recording after meeting the like-minded Andy Votel at a Manchester nightclub. The pair formed the Twisted Nerve label.
His fantastic lyrics and simple yet catchy guitar riffs led Author Nick Hornby to ask the singer to score and record the soundtrack to the film being made of this book About a Boy.
The fact that BadlyDrawnBoy crafted this soundtrack to such a good modern film is not suprising although it must be said that he could not have done this unless he was indeed a fan of the original book. The some times odd, quirky tracks he produced sit so well within the film that this was a marriage made in heaven...
