Absolute 80's - Various Artists

Advantages: 18 Wonderful Number one Tracks from the 80's

...My wife was in Woolworths the other day, and whilst browsing at the albums which were in the sale she came upon this wonderful collection for the remarkable price of 99p. That's right you get change out of a pound. I must admit it's not the greatest 80's album in the world but what do you expect for a pound. Cover Design This is pretty uninspiring but having said that it must have done something to attract my wifes attention. Basically, the album cover is black, with 56 purple circles with the number 1 in yellow emblazoned within each purple circle to signify the fact only number 1 singles are included on the album. Near the top of the cover, the album title is emblazoned in yellow, and a selection of artists is detailed at the foot of the cover to attract your attention. Advantages: 2 cd set with some great tunes from the 80's
Disadvantages: a few not well know songs on here

...If you remember the 80's and loved the music , then this is defiantley the album for you ... This two disk CD set covers all various artists from 1980-1989 and has a combined forty songs !! not bad eh. There are so many songs and groups on here that a lot of you will remember and it brings back good times for me remembering the school disco's ! My favourites on this album are "hungry like the wolf" that has to be one of mine as a Duran Duran fan, and I have good memories of Billy Ocens "Get outo my dreams, get into my car". Another classic is "Prince Charming" by Adam and the ants. There are a couple of dud songs on here that I did not really enjoy that much, such as "I'm a wonderful thing baby" and "Ride on time" I really hated that song when it came out as it was number one for weeks and weeks and just got on my nerves... ...Well at last it has appeared as I requested this. In November last year I saw this advertised on the television and wondered if it was as good as it seems. I was a bit worried as I have bought many an 80's flop only to find that all the songs have been by one band and appalling at that and it has gone straight to the bin. I however kept seeing this television advert and put it on my wish list to Santa. However Santa wrote me a nice letter saying that he could not get into Woolworths to buy it on Christmas Eve as it was jammed packed. So come the sales, off I trotted and priced it up at HMV, Woolies and other places and it all seemed to around the same price £15. Now I am not really a cd person, I prefer most of the old vinyl days which I collect and probably have got over a 1000 records but my player broke. I took the CD to... Read review
