...This is an excellent round up of all the R'n'B smashes of 2004 and 2005 with a few nostalgic classics thrown in for good measure. It covers the slow jams, the dancefloor joints and everything in between from artists as diverse as Wayne Wonder, Lucy Pearl, Kelis and Usher. CD2 also takes us back with classic gems from the likes of D'Angelo (whose 'Brown Sugar' pretty much defined and kick started the neo soul scene), Janet Jackson (with her undeniable classic 'That's The Way Love Goes') and Blackstreet (with club hit 'No Diggity' featuring Dr Dre) This album is the perfect party album and although it avoids raritites, its sound understanding of R'n'B past and present make it a must have for any music lover.... ...Braindance Coincidence (various artists) is a collection of tracks from artist that are on Aphex Twins record label Rephlex. Aphex twin is probably the UK's most well known electronic musician, and these tracks follow in his footsteps. The tracks play on the idea of electronic sound and what can be done with it and so dont really follow a particular genre. There are styles taken from drum and bass, trance, dub, but they are fitted into the Rephlex mould which is generally described as being 'Glitchy, atmospheric, deep and mad'. If you are interested in and enjoy electronic music you will absolutely love this. It is filled to the brim with tracks, some which sound like they have been made using modern equipment, some which sound slightly older, but they all have that same feeling of spaced out electronica.
